Technology and User Experience

I have just returned to the National College of Ireland to complete my  course in Digital Marketing.  This semester we are studying Technology and User Experience (UX) which is one of two modules (Social Media Marketing and PR is the other one).

As part of our assignment for the first week, we had to look at a few examples of UX both offline and online and blog about them.  The following 8 posts are part of this assignment. They are varied and tell their own story. UX  encompasses all aspects of the user’s interaction with the system be it a website or a washing machine.

Offline include – Baby Monitor, Washing Machine, Clock Radio, Daisy Duster.

Online include – MovieExtras, Greyhound Recycling, Adverts, Irish Blogger Agency.

“After all, usability really just means making sure that something works well: that a person of average (or even below average) ability and experience can use the thing – whether it’s a web site, a fighter jet, or a revolving door – for its intended purpose without getting hopelessly frustrated.”      Steve Krug, 2006
